PEM electrolysis: New catalyst prevents crossover phenomenon

TANAKA PRECIOUS METAL TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. has developed an electrode catalyst for PEM electrolytic baths that uses new technology to prevent the dangerous crossover phenomenon. In this technology, hydrogen permeates through the PEM membrane and reacts with oxygen on the anode side. On June 5, 2025, the Company was awarded the 2025 Technical Award by the Japan Society of Catalysis for this catalyst.
