TANAKA has developed highly active catalysts for PEFC cathodes, catalysts with excellent CO poisoning resistance for anodes, and anode catalysts for water electrolysis by combining precious metal technologies.
Power to Gas, which uses renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power to electrolyze water and generate hydrogen, has been attracting attention. TANAKA have achieved mass production of electrocatalysts for PEMWE with higher activity and durability.
We provide precious metal plating on electrodes of various shapes and plating thicknesses and interconnectors for solid polymer electrodes.
H2 purification is realized using the hydrogen permeable films of palladium. TANAKA’s ultra-thin material processing technology and highly clean technology provide the films with high reliability and maximum hydrogen permeablity.
Reforming cat.: Production of H2 from hydrocarbon(HC) in natural gas/ PROX cat.: Selective removal of CO in the reforming gas of PEFC/ Oxidation cat.: Oxidation removal of unburned HC, CO and H2 with oxygen
Precious metal compounds are used in many industrial fields as plating chemicals and catalysts. From generals such as PGC and Pd chloride to complex organics, we flexibly prepare them according to their application and provide them.
Based on “trust,” “secutity,” and “technology,” we propose a total system for scrap containing used precious metals, from recovery and purification to recycling.

Polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFC) are already being introduced and put into practical use in many countries around the world as hydrogen applications. TANAKA will provide a stable supply of electrocatalysts for these applications on a global scale, and is working to develop more highly active and durable catalysts.
TANAKA is also developing electrocatalysts for polymer electrolyte water electrolysis, PEMWE, whose widespread use is also under consideration, and will contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society.
Details

TANAKA’s Ir oxide anode catalysts for PEMWE are high-performance catalysts that efficiently promote the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in water electrolysis, combining high activity and high durability.
The lineup optimized for Ir content, crystallite size, and specific surface area provides high initial performance and stable electrolysis efficiency with reduced degradation over a long period of operation.
In addition, the highly active TEC77100 and the highly durable TEC77110 can be selected according to the application, contributing to improving the reliability of PEMWE systems and promoting a carbon-neutral society.
Details

TANAKA’s precious metal electrodes are PEM-type water electrolysis electrodes (feeder/GDL/PTL) that utilize plating technology cultivated over many years to realize highly active, and durable insoluble anodes with excellent electrical conductivity, durability, and gas diffusivity.
Platinum and platinum/iridium alloy plating can be applied to a wide variety of substrates such as expanded metals, micromeshes, and porous materials, enabling optimal design for each application.
Details

TANAKA’s hydrogen permeation membrane is a high-performance metal membrane that utilizes the characteristics of palladium alloys to selectively permeate only hydrogen and produce high-purity hydrogen.
In particular, the newly developed HPM-L 111 is the world’s first membrane that exhibits high permeation performance even in the low temperature range of around 100°C, compared with conventional metal membrane technology that required temperatures of 300°C or higher.
The fine uneven structure of the membrane surface greatly improves the hydrogen penetration rate. This will contribute to high-precision hydrogen sensors, hydrogen removal in vacuum equipment, and the supply of high-purity hydrogen for fuel cells. It will also contribute to carbon neutrality by reducing heating energy.

Reforming catalysts, metamorphic catalysts, and PROX catalysts are high-performance catalysts that support the hydrogen production process in a series.
Reforming catalysts produce hydrogen from hydrocarbons, metamorphic catalysts reduce CO, and PROX catalysts selectively oxidize residual CO to produce high-purity hydrogen.
They are characterized by optimum design, high activity, and high durability for each application.
Details

TANAKA’s precious metal compounds are a product group that flexibly manufactures and supplies compounds used in a wide range of industrial fields, including plating chemicals and catalysts, according to the application.
We offer a diverse lineup of products ranging from common inorganic compounds such as potassium gold cyanide and palladium chloride to highly functional noble metal complexes with organic ligands, ensuring a stable supply and thorough quality control.
We also provide high-purity and high-quality noble metal compounds that meet the diverse process requirements for homogeneous catalyst applications.
Details

TANAKA’s precious metal recovery and refining service is a highly reliable recycling system that provides a one-stop service for the evaluation, pretreatment, extraction, refining and commercialization of scrap containing precious metals.
With advanced extraction technology and accurate analysis, we can handle scrap of various shapes and compositions, and can choose flexible settlement methods such as “purchase metal”, “return as metal”, or “return as finished products”.
In addition, as an LBMA and LPPM certified screening company, we have world-class quality control and confidentiality systems, contributing to sustainable resource circulation and cost optimization.
