What is a "Precious Metal Plating Electrode"?
These insoluble electrodes are made of titanium substrate with platinum (Pt) or platinum-iridium alloy (PtIr) electrodeposited on it. They are compatible with substrates of various shapes and offer high electrical conductivity, durability, and gas diffusivity. They offer an optimal balance of cost and performance while supporting long life and stable operation in applications such as green hydrogen production equipment and alkaline ionized water purifiers.

PEM water electrolysis is one of the optimal methods for producing green hydrogen using renewable energy.

Using our plating technology developed through insoluble electrodes, we provide PEM water electrolysis electrodes (Power feeder, GDL, and PTL) with excellent electrical conductivity, durability, and gas diffusion to contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society.

PEM = Polymer Electrolyte Membrane
GDL = Gas Diffusion Layer
PTL = Porous Transport Layer

PEM Water Electrolysis Electrodes (Power feeder / GDL / PTL)

TANAKA’s PEM Water Electrolysis Electrodes (Power Feeder, GDL, PTL)

  • It is possible to choose substrates according to a balance of cost and performance (electrical conductivity, durability, and gas diffusion).
  • We have a track record of platinum plating on different types of substrates, including expanded, micromesh, and porous (sintered fiber body and sintered powder body).

【Titanium Expanded】
Features

  • This is a relatively affordable substrate as it is widely distributed in the market. (Minimum opening 2.0 mm × 1.0 mm)

【Titanium Micromesh】
Features

  • As the substrate surface is flat and smooth, it can be expected to mitigate physical damage when bonding with CCM.
  • It is possible to create original designs for the opening size and arrangement.
